Football wise, I see what you're saying, Mr Ed. I think if Johnson had made a trip to the ground, seen the facilities, which are some of the best in the UK, he may have thought about it a bit harder. My guess is he doesn't fancy playing in the Championship next season. If he had some balls he'd have seen it as a chance to put himself in the shop window. Considering how he plays in games that count (read: Gold Cup) I'd say he's made a big mistake. Another case of an American not willing to pull the trigger and make the tough decision.

Asian Cup Update

I've not been too concerned with the Asian Cup, to be honest. I suppose it's the biggest tourny for the folks over there but the standard of play just isn't high enough to warrant my attention. Sure, Australia, Japan and South Korea can play with anyone on their day but the standard drops off so rapidly when countries like Bahrain and Malaysia get in the mix. But man, what fun it would be to attend some of these matches. Fabulous host countries (Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia) with great beaches, mountains, forests, and FOOD would have made this an excellent trip. Maybe next time.
