Wenger Pleased With Arsenal's Return To Form
http://goal.com/en-US/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=140442
I agree that Arsenal have been playing much better of late but let's not overlook the fact that Lehman has literally saved them from dropping points on more than a couple of occasions. The stop on Ole Gunnar's shot versus ManU preserved the win http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sC5nNsqupDQ, as did his brilliant save in the waning minutes of the Charlton match. Sorry - no video at the moment. After the Gunners took the lead at The Valley, they really seemed to shut off defensively and Gallas should have been called for hand ball in the area. Throw in Jimmy Floyd's missed open header and it was all pretty tense. Better form? Yes. But there is still a certain steel that is lacking in the side and they'll need to get that sorted. Did someone say "The Beast?" -Sanford

After World Cup Willie everything is a latex letdown
Naranjito the orange? Goleo? A cuckoo? Pah! No mascot will ever come close to England's 1966 hero Willie.

Rooney: I'd Never Dive
Someone's got a short memory...

If anyone can find video of his dive versus Arsenal to win a penalty two years ago, please send it my way. Thanks, Sanford
OK - found it. I guess over the course of two years you could forget this dive that changed the course of the match and ended Arsenal's unbeaten run at 49...

Why is Shevchenko struggling to adapt to the Premiership?
I really think it's a matter of time before Sheva starts knocking them in. He's played quite well off the ball and his passing and vision have led to plenty of Chelsea chances. This article notes the irony of Drogba's fine play of late (compared with Shevchenko's lack of fine play?) but I think Sheva's influence, skill, and presence have opened things up for Drogba and allowed him to relax and not feel like he's the only one who is a big physical presence and can lead the line. The goals will come once he settles. -Sanford
