The third round of the Carling Cup got underway tonight with Arsenal v Newcastle the pick of the ties. True to form, Arsene Wenger selected a team of young players on the fringes of the first team for this competition - and they were as impressive as the first team in beating a strong Newcasytle side 2-0. Liverpool beat Reading 4-2 thanks to a Fernando Torres hat-trick, while Giorgios Samaras scored a last-ditch winner for Manchester City against Norwich....
