DeMarcus Beasley mulls a move home

What the hell is he thinking? Exactly what is he going to do in MLS? He's obviously been hanging out with Landon way too much. If playing for a top European team like PSV, seeing quality Champions League action, and winning the Dutch League are not doing it for The Kid then we've got a problem. It's almost sickening. If our best players don't enjoy playing in the top leagues than the U.S. team will never amount to anything. Beasley at Real Salt Lake? What a waste. -Sanford

Consider the following:
1. he didn't have a good year last season
2. the coach who brought him to Eindhoven is gone.
3. He got a DUI in the winter and may be facing legal issues in Holland (and a club penalty).
4. He has reported incidents of racist chanting, etc, directed at him in the Dutch league.

It's quite possible that the new coach has told him that he doesn't have a place in the team and that he can find his own ticket out. Why he wants to come back to the states rather than trying to catch on with a lesser Dutch or English (or whatever European) club. And if he's coming back to the states why not go to NY where they can throw tons of money at him and the league will ignore the salary cap. Oh right, Bruce Arena is a fucking asshole.

His year last year was hampered by nagging injuries. Even if your hypothesis about the new coach is true, the drop-off in quality coming back to the States is too much. And the racist incidents are pretty much everywhere expect England at this point - plenty of other players deal with it. I think that's a weak reason.

Look, there are plenty of reasons to come back. Get a house on the beach, live with your girlie, walk the dog, be the star. But he should tough it out.
