Keane defies critics with LA move

As Robbie Keane fulfilled the latest of his never ending list of 'dream moves' by joining LA Galaxy, his army of Irish cynics unleashed a predictably vitriolic tirade in the direction of their nation's all-time record goal scorer.

Ireland is and always has been a hater's paradise. The only way to beat it is to play for Man Utd, and while that worked for Dennis Irwin it didn't save Roy Keane. Nothing Robbie Keane could do at this point is going to make his critics happy- staying at West Ham? No. Going back to Celtic? Probably not. Certainly not sitting unwanted on the bench at Spurs. I guess maybe if he played for Shamrock Rovers and donated his salary to orphans that would win him some goodwill in Dublin but that's not going to get the rest of the Irish to feel any better about him.

Speaking as one of his critics, if he were to alter his goal celebration, I would be happy. Seeing him do his ridiculous half-assed cartwheel somersault shooting from his fingers maneuver in a Galaxy kit will be nauseating...

Speaking of which, see how the Irish still love Henry:
