Carlos Gurpegi earned Athletic Bilbao the derby honours as they beat Osasuna 1-0 in the Primera Division. Mallorca climbed into the top six with a 2-0 win over Malaga, who have now suffered successive defeats under new coach Manuel Pellegrini. Eleven players were booked as Real Sociedad scored a goal late in each half to claim a come-from-behind 3-1 win at Sporting Gijon.
