Sounders FC Announce Freddie Ljungberg Trade To Chicago Fire

The Sounders traded Freddie Ljungberg, their original Designated Player, to the Chicago Fire. The former Arsenal star had been laid up after suffering an “ankle injury” he supposedly picked up during a July 9th training session. Ljungberg had not been present on the pitch since then.

Poor Freddie, it must be hard to suppress the nausea that the nude woman on top of him is doubtlessly producing. Interesting move by the Fire. Freddie's contract is up in the fall and Castillo is a loan deal. Add that to Conde's expiring contract and McBride's likely retirement and it adds up to an attempt to make a run at a championship before they tear the roster up and start over.
