Barry harried as he returns for Villa

The boos were as predictable as the hostile chants as Aston Villa fans turned on Gareth Barry for a period last night when the England midfielder was subjected to a chastening run-out in a reserve XI at Walsall.

Don't you think that Barry's proposed move to Liverpool is looking less likely by the day? Especially now Liverpool have spent a load more money on signing Robbie Keane.
I think that is an excellent buy for Liverpool and Keane and Torres could be an excellent partnership.
Back to Barry, a good player, but don't see why you would want to buy him if you already have established players like Alonso in your team. Just seems like a lot of money to get what you already have.
What do you think?

Well, now it seems quite likely. We shall see. At one point Alonso was a certainty to move to Juventus, but now that is up in the air. I agree that the Keane buy is good but it's so much money. And yes, Barry is a fine player, but another example of a guy's value being vastly inflated simply because he is English. That said, Barry and Stevie G. together in the midfield at Anfield could be formidable.
