England: Romance of the FA Cup - what a load of bollocks

An ex-girlfriend once told me I was about as romantic as John Major. Well this level of romance extends to the FA Cup. Barnsley against Cardiff isn't romantic, its about as attractive as a free ticket to Paris Hilton's new movie. The game could end 9-7, and it still wouldn't interest me. Let the poncy romance stay in the 3rd round where it belongs. WBA are a half decent side, though even they somehow managed to lose to Derby in the play-offs last year. They could knock out Pompey, leaving an all Championship final. God forbid. Cue an endless stream of journalists and pundits blabbering on about how great it is to see them get so far. Yeah, great until you have to actual watch he game. Give me ManU Vs Liverpool every year.

The assertion of regional identity is at the core of Barnsley's collision with Cardiff on Sunday, even on such neutral turf as Wembley
