Everton stunned Chelsea on Sunday, trumping the London club 1-0 behind Jermaine Beckford’s 74th minute winner. Despite playing with 10 men for the better part of the second half, the Toffees persevered. Howard was impressive and made a few notable saves at the end of the first half when he twice denied prominent striker Nicolas Anelka. The clean sheet was his eighth of the season. Despite a solid campaign, Everton once again missed out on a trophy. Howard, at Everton’s end of season awards dinner, expressed positivity when talking about next season but hopes to see some new faces as the club challenges for a European place.
