I Love Dennis Bergkamp
Since his testimonial is coming up on Saturday, I figured I'd post some movies of The Iceman's finer moments. Here's the ridiculous move against Newcastle that is now quite famous. I was lucky enough to be watching this match on TV when he pulled The Move, and had no idea what had happened until I saw the replay. As they say, sheer class... -Sanford

Howard in line for Toffees bow
I really hope Tim Howard wins the starting job at Everton. It's just been so sad watching him ride the pine at ManU and it has totally stalled his career. He needs first-team football and if he can't get it on a loan deal, he's in trouble. -Sanford

Norman Hubbard on Fergie's constipated summer
ManU ain't looking good. OK, so the Glazers refinanced and Fergie now has some extra cash to throw around, but at the moment you'd have to put them behind Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs in the pecking order of the Premiership. Sir Alex has done little to address the lack of depth at Old Trafford, while his closest competitors have only added firepower to their already impressive books. Even with the situation in Italy making a lot of attractive players available, I don't see anyone going to Manchester and making a massive impact. Milan, Inter, Roma, Chelsea and the top teams in La Liga will all look better in the eyes of the Serie A players.

Rooney hails Ronaldo as a friend
Yeah, right. Rooney's ManU handlers put all of these words in his mouth in an attempt to keep Sir Alex from getting burned by Ronaldo leaving. No way are they pals anymore. I also love how quickly they get the books out...gotta make that dime while the story is hot!! -Sanford

Some World Cup Photographs
Here's a link to some pictures I took in Germany:
http://community.webshots.com/myphotos?action=viewAllPhotos&albumID=551668853
I wish I had taken a photo of the Beerman's Skillet once I had polished it all off. That day began early in Hamburg. I took a train (about four hours) to Gelsinkirchen where I got on a tram PACKED with Mexican fans, along with the odd neutral like me and a couple friendly Portuguese. It took 45 minutes to reach the stadium and then another 20 minutes for me to walk around the perimeter fencing to reach my entrance. After the match I avoided the tram by splurging for a cab back to the Gelsinkirchen station. It was a splendid move, if I may say so myself. Anyway, I hopped a train to Koln and found my hotel. And realized I was famished. The Beerman's Skillet saved the day. -Sanford
