Altidore shines as U.S. dismantles Trinidad & Tobago
When it comes to the U.S. attack, it has long been thought that Brian Ching was merely keeping the forward position warm for Jozy Altidore, especially given manager Bob Bradley's tendency to play with a single striker. But based on Wednesday's 3-0 dismantling of Trinidad & Tobago, one that featured an Altidore hat trick, it's clear that the Americans' offense functions a heck of lot better when both players are in the lineup.

Altidore was fantastic and I have to agree that Ching did a lot of good work to free him up. DaMarcus looked a bit lost at times but could work out very well at LB. I wish that Bob had gone with Adu rather than Mastroeni, though Pablo was fine. This was a good lineup to play against a weaker team when we need goals but I think that against stronger teams with good outside players this lineup would be eaten alive. Dempsey did nothing last night, he's got nothing to offer defensively and he needs to be nearer to goal to be effective. I was impressed with Lando's display on the right, he is one who does better with room to run at goal. He essentially did nothing to help Beasley defend the flank though.
or rather Lando's display on the left.
I disagree on Dempsey. I thought he passed well and was inventive. He was also key to maintaining a good pace for the side. I agree that it wasn't his best outing, but he was decent.
