Zenit win EUFA Cup
Rangers' run in the UEFA Cup really has lead to huge pile of bullshit from the British press. The Scottish team did well getting to the final but by all accounts did so by torturing viewers with their negative tactics. Were this a team from Greece or Croatia they'd be derided as boring and negative but because they're Scottish and managed by Walter Smith they're unlucky and plucky. You get headlines like 'Rangers run out of steam' in The Telegraph...they didn't run out of steam, their shite tactics caught up with and the team that actively tried to win the game thankfully prevailed. Or 'Gallant Rangers fall at final hurdle'...what the fuck is gallant about boring the crap out of spectators for hour after hour of cup football?

So are traveling Scottish fans only the best when they are supporting Scotland? Stabbings? I guess I'd be pissed too if I'd spent all year watching that boring crap only to have it fail at the final hurdle. Zenit fully deserved their win and it could have been a lot worse than 2-0 for Rangers. Arshavin's assist on the first goal was a thing of beauty and while Rangers did manage to make themselves some chances in the second half the only truly exiting play they made was Papic's headed save to deny Arshavin the open goal.
