Watched Liverpool/PSV yesterday. Liverpool seem like a team without an identity. I think Rafa is such a squad rotator and matchup player that the team doesn't really develop a style or play a certain way. Contrast this to the way that Chelsea take time to find the best system to fit their personnel then rotate the players through the system. Another example is ManYoo back in the salad days. They could rotate pretty much everyone but Beckham and always play the same style of attacking game. I think Liverpool are never going to be consistent until they start doing this.

That's a solid analysis, anonymous. At first it seemed like the additions of Bellamy and Gonzalez would provide the missing pace but that obviously wasn't the only issue. Fatigue? Perhaps, but I don't buy it. The lack of a defined system seems to be the issue at the moment.

What are you talking about?

Liverpool have been poor of late, but played well yesterday, and were the better team. The were able to rest Gerrard and got a much needed clean sheet. Picking up an away point to PSV is no mean feat.

Rafa has a history of playing in a certain stlye, he's just trying to establish what his best team is.

I'm talking about when trying to decide what his best team is he's trying to decide what their system will be at the same time. His system will be dictated by his squad selection.
