Stadium construction for 2010 World Cup is on track

Last week, officials from the governing body of world soccer, joined by South African organizers, visited four of the nine host cities to assess the stadiums in Johannesburg, site of the opening and final matches, Cape Town, Durban and Port Elizabeth.

"FIFA is confident progress is on track and going the right way," FIFA general secretary Jerome Valcke said after a board meeting of the local organizing committee.
