International Friendly: England vs. Germany

Injuries and withdrawals leave Löw German expectations: Wembley was supposed to be a test of Germany's progress since the World Cup, but instead manager Jogi Löw is bringing over a B team.

John Terry last night launched a staunch defence of his club-mate Frank Lampard, with the England captain hopeful there will be no repeat of the barracking to which the midfielder was subjected by the Wembley crowd against Brazil in June.

And...Michael Owen and Alan Smith are set to start for England against Germany in Wednesday's friendly at Wembley. Now that's a strike force to fear!

Oh, and of course we must include the Golden Balls Update.
