Bradley to be named interim U.S. coach

The U.S. Soccer Federation on Friday will name current Chivas USA coach Bob Bradley as U.S. national team coach a source close to the negotiations confirmed to ESPN.com on Thursday. But the hiring is only temporary.

I have to say, this is completely embarrassing. Why would Bob take the job on a interim basis? Did Sunil think that if he kept begging Jurgen would come around? Given the amount of time involved and the fact that Jurgen has shown disinterest from the beginning, wouldn't one think that Sunil would move on to candidates who are actually interested in the job? I should have smacked some sense into him when I saw him at an MLS playoff match.

Just imagine if we were England, what a stink this would be making. Obviously they've blown it and went begging to Bob to save their asses. But why he agreed to interim I have no idea.
