Liverpool, which lost to AC Milan in last year's final, beat visiting Toulouse 4-0 as Dirk Kuyt scored twice in the last three minutes following goals by Peter Crouch and Sami Hyppia. Liverpool won the home-and-home, total-goals series 5-0 and joined English rivals Manchester United and Chelsea in the first round.
